Non-mesmer, but still.
Means they won't be affected by FC.

The update also includes a new secret river passage to an Asuran lab west of Divinity Coast. I followed G.O.X and Zimm to the spot days before. Head north from the Shining Blade camp till you get to a collecter (Ember Whisperwind).

The passage is there

Heya, just wanted to clarify that there were no Mesmer changes in this game update. Incorrect text was included in the game update by mistake. This text error will be corrected. Sorry about all the confusion!

Means no fast casting for PvE skills and mesmers rely a lot on PvE skills.

So let me get this straight... this was another epic WiK dialog update with the addition of mesmer text changes that weren't meant to go live yet?

*yawn*

Way to go!

Uh, the new update won't allow me into GW? I keep getting an error file saying that it can't apply the patch? GW was working fine yesterday, nothing has changed on my computer?

I can't even bring up the login screen. ARRGG.

ANet enjoys teasing us with mistakes. Don't worry, everything will come true sometime before the end of the year.

Could you, then, I don't know, just put in the change instead of correcting the text? Would be appropriate and a lot of players would love it.

Anet's track record of tons of bugs in every single update makes me wonder how sound GW2's coding will be...

2nd update with mesmer "not wanted texts".

looks like showing the new mesmer update with short teasers.

after all the WiK events put into the game... there is already a walkthrough to get all done in order? :S

Are these errors going to be a regular occurrence, or is it just that the people who are good at their job are all working on GW2?

So when Anet announces that we're going to get previews before the updates go live, this is what they meant, yes? After all, two in a row implies a dedicated approach.

EDIT: for those who care, my feedback (if this is going to be the actual change to Fast Casting) is that it's not bad. I'm assuming "less than 2 seconds" means that 2 second cast skills will be reduced (yes, it's basic math, but it's also ArenaNet), and I have no problem with anything below that not being affected.

Now then - if you're going to split attributes between PvE and PvP, an argument can be made for PvP Expertise to get hit. You're opening up a can of worms here. Tread lightly.

As far as I know, most Anet people who were and still are killing GW1 won't be allowed to GW2 (read: all of them). :>

Fast Casting decreases the activation time of your Spells and Signets. (No effect for non-Mesmer skills with an activation time less than 2 seconds.) In PvE, each rank of Fast Casting decreases the recharge time for your Mesmer Spells by 3%.

So basically, they've buffed us with one hand whilst delivering the biggest Mesmer-specific nerf yet to completely hobble us in PvE. Thanks aNet for screwing us just as hard as ever, if in fact this change is to come to pass.

I could swear that when I asked in the Mesmer Speculation thread, whether the update to mesmer would ruin what we already have, that I was assured that it wouldn't.. That surety just went up in smoke.

So please, explain again what benefits that change to FC will bring to Mesmers. Benefits.

Free mantra of recall on the coming absurdly buffed mesmer skills?

You know why fast casting was ignored in PvE? Because casting your 1s spells at .75s never made a difference. Firing off 50% more clumsiness, empathy, new panic, frustration, vor etc. will.

Edit: PvP really is dead isn't it? Its like people never heard of savage/dshot before.

Not impressed with mesmers being unable to FC secondary profession/PvE skills when this update goes ahead. What's the reasoning behind that nerf, exactly?

While they're at it, they should make it so sins can only crit with daggers, eles require ele skills on their bars to get bonus energy and expertise only affects ranger skills. This change to FC is completely unnecessary.
